We’ve been saying it for years, but keyless access is the future. Or rather, it is the present. You can get into your car without a key, and with a Defigo Connect Panel, you can enter your building without a key. But did you know the possibilities don’t stop there?

Our Relay Hub is the "brain" of our access solution. The Defigo Connect Panel relies on the Relay Hub for data and power to unlock the door, making entry into the building as seamless as possible. Our Relay Hub is incredibly powerful and can be installed in multiple locations around a building to make access even easier.

Do you have extra doors, storage rooms, or a garage that you want simple, keyless access to? Keep reading as we dive into the possibilities offered by our Relay Hub.

Introduction to Keyless Access

Keyless access has revolutionized the way we think about security and entry for residential and commercial buildings. Many modern buildings are equipped with keyless access systems that enhance both security and convenience. With digital access solutions, you no longer have to worry about physical keys being lost, copied, or ending up in the wrong hands, instead an app is often used instead of traditional keys, providing increased security and flexibility. That way, you can easily manage who gets access to a door, and when, without having to deal with traditional locks and keys.

This type of access gives you full control over who has entry to your property, whether it’s tenants, employees, or guests. The solution is highly practical and suits a range of needs and buildings. Keyless access systems provide a contactless experience for users and can be managed remotely, making them ideal for businesses and property management.

With keyless access, everyday life becomes simpler. You avoid searching for keys or handling the replacement of locks due to lost keys. Everything is managed digitally, and these systems can be administered via a mobile app or web portal. Keyless access systems can be integrated with existing security systems, to create a comprehensive security solution. These systems enhance convenience by allowing users to unlock doors and control access without physical keys. They also simplify how property managers grant and manage access, improving operational efficiency. You can change access rights at any time without having to replace physical components. This provides a flexible, future-proof solution that makes managing access safe and easy, regardless of your specific needs.

Garages

If you have a garage, you’re likely familiar with the frustration of the remote opener. For most private garages, the only way to ensure that only tenants have access is to give them a small remote that they press when approaching the garage. It’s an effective tool, but a nightmare to keep track of.

If someone borrows your parking space, access to the garage is suddenly in their hands. If the remote disappears, you have to pay a disproportionately high bill to replace it. Or perhaps you’ve been in your car, ready to drive in, only to realize the remote is in the glove box… on the other side of the vehicle. You practically have to become a gymnast just to reach it.

It works, but it isn’t practical.

How does the Defigo Reay Hub solve this?

The Defigo Relay Hub can be easily installed inside the garage (out of sight from passersby) and allows tenants to gain keyless access via their smartphone. This way, the user can easily open the garage door directly from the Defigo app, increasing flexibility and convenience. Tenants can carry their smartphones for quick access, and administrators can grant or revoke access remotely. Additionally, the system can provide audit trails to track who enters and exits the garage for improved security oversight.

The best part? With our recent launch of Widgets that work with CarPlay, tenants don’t even need to look for their phone. It will be available on the car’s screen exactly when they need it. Simple and secure.

Extra Doors

Most residential or commercial buildings have extra rooms, whether they are bike storage, gyms, or garbage rooms. Whatever the purpose, you want simple, keyless access while ensuring only the building's tenants have entry.

In many buildings, this usually means a PIN code on the door. Many electronic locks allow for personal codes that can be changed easily for better security. However, PIN codes aren’t always particularly secure. Codes are often not changed regularly, meaning former tenants may still have access, and physical wear on the keypad can reveal which numbers are being used.

Tenants want to be certain their bikes are safe and that security isn't compromised by something as simple as a PIN code that wasn't updated.

The solution? The Defigo Relay Hub.

The Relay Hub can operate up to 3 doors and allows authorized tenants to gain access to the door via the Defigo app. The building administrator can easily add or remove tenant access via Defigo WebAdmin, ensuring that only those who should have access actually do.

Additionally, if you already have a Defigo Connect Panel installed at the main entrance, it’s a seamless transition for tenants to add extra doors within the same app.

Elevators

Keyless access from the front door to the elevator and all the way to the office or apartment... too good to be true? Not with our Relay Hub.

For larger buildings with elevators, integrating with Defigo can provide an even smoother journey through the building for both tenants and visitors.

Elevator integration can work in three ways:

- Use Defigo to restrict access to one or more floors.

- Use the Defigo app to control which floor the elevator travels to.

- Control the elevator’s actions when you receive a visitor via the Connect Panel.

For more information on the possibilities of elevator integration, see our dedicated article.

The Defigo Relay Hub opens many doors (literally) for both tenants and building managers. Navigating the building entirely via the Defigo app provides secure, easy access for everyone, as well as a practical overview for administrators.

Benefits of Keyless Access

1. With keyless access, you get a solution that gives you total control over who enters your door, and when. By using digital keys and a modern access solution, you don't have to worry about physical keys being lost or stolen. This makes it easy to share access with contractors, guests, or anyone else who needs entry, without needing to hand over a physical key.

2. Digital keys are easily managed via app or web, allowing you to control door access in real-time. This increases security because you always have an overview of who has access, and you can quickly revoke or change permissions as needed. Additionally, the risk of burglary is reduced, as there are no physical keys that can go missing.

3. Keyless access also makes it easier to handle temporary needs. For example, if you have workers coming in for a period, or if you want to let friends or family in while you're away, you can grant them entry no matter where you are. All of this makes daily life safer and more flexible while providing a solution that is easy for everyone to use.
